Fighter Plane Inspired Mustang Going To Auction

Colonel Anderson of the U.S. Air Force racked up more than 16 flying victories in Europe during World War II. He was never struck by enemy fire from an aerial engagement in his career. He flew 116 missions, including a six-hour mission on D-Day, and has earned more than 25 medals including the Bronze Star, Air Medal, and Distinguished Flying Cross.

Ford and Roush combined to honor P-51 pilot Colonel Bud Anderson, by building a supercharged 5.0 liter boasting 710 horsepower and 610 foot pound of torque. This 2019 Ford Mustang GT proudly displays the name and color scheme of Colonel Anderson’s fighter jet from World War II. The decklid has an authentic Eighth Air Force badge, also the blue tinted exhaust tips mimic the P-51 Mustang.

The ‘Old Crow’ has various upgrades aside from the Roush supercharger, Inside the cockpit you will see and interior of green leather and canvas, a red Roush shifter and Sparco 4 point harnesses. The exterior packs other updates from Roush too, including a cold air intake system an offroad X pipe, and custom 20-inch wheels wrapped in 275/35/20R Continental ExtremeContact sport tires. A custom active exhaust system comes from Ford Performance. Also in the rear, you will find the spoiler from the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.

The Mustang will be auctioned off for charity at the Experimental Aircraft Association’s annual AirVenture show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The EAA attracts over 600,000 people a year. It has become a common practice to offer custom cars at this event as Ford has donated in total 11 vehicles and raised over 3.5 million. This beautiful car is sure to rack up a pretty penny as Ford’s donation last year sold for $420,000.
